Natura 2000 is a network of protected nature sites throughout the territory of the European Union. The South Wexford Coast supports fourteen Natura 2000 sites: seven Special Areas of Conservation (SACs), six Special Protection Areas (SPAs), and one proposed marine Special Protection Area (SPA). The qualifying interests of SPAs are named species of wild birds, and the qualifying interests of SACs are habitats and non-bird species. For further information see the PDF files listed below.
